For the last few years we have been praying with some regularity for what Jesus calls “workers for the harvest.” That is, for people to come to PAC who could help us with our mission of turning Portage la Prairie UpSideDown. Off the top of my head I can think of several who fit this category perfectly. Transfered from other churches (I am aware this isn’t always a good thing but sometimes it most definitely is) or just new to town, these people are now elders, musicians, and strong mentoring presences in the church.
So I am thankful to God for these answered prayers. But I am also noticing He is answering it in a different way. Yes, He is sending us people from “outside” to to help.
However, at the same He is developing people from within. People who for whatever reason had not found where they fit, been apathetic or indifferent, or just plain scared are responding to God’s call for them to join in to what He is doing.
I saw both categories - those new to PAC and those newly rejuvenated at PAC coming together last Sunday and it was beautiful to see.
